Completely Wicked!!
So, okay, bit of a hiatus as I had a Baha’i Service Project to do (VIVA PROJECT ZAYNAB!), but I’ve returned and gotten most of VOTW’s stuff finished up on the site here. Unfortunately, the pictures page will take some doing. Meh, I’m working on it when I can.

Oh and NOBAS re-edit is in progress still. Here’s hoping my PC maintains stability long enough for me to keep it rolling. Once it’s done, however, that section should be pretty epic as well.

L’armée des ombres
Jean-Pierre Melville doing a WW2 French Resistance film? Wow. It’s serious and dramatic, yet he allows himself to get into the action in a way that’s both exciting and horrifying. Has easily the grisliest strangling I’ve ever seen, more from the setup to the scene than the actual strangling. Genius film. Highly recommend it.
Città violenta
Sergio Sollima doing a great Italo-crime movie set, ironically, not in Italy and with a high amount of Hollywood actors (Charles Bronson, Jill Ireland, and Telly Savalas). The result is a great movie, helped by an excellent screenplay and some grin-worthy performances. Full of intrigue and desire, with the right blend of moodiness and entertainment. A bleak, dark, twisty little crime picture.
