Wow, it’s been a while.

Feb 25, 2009 in Filmmaking, Ranting, Update

Ugh, lots of projects, goings on, my first “real job” (that didn’t last), way too much PS3/L4D time, writing like crazy, and trying to keep sane in this ever-changing world heading towards certain doom at the hands of The Tall Man/Bubba Ho-Tep/Cthulhu.

Not a whole lot going down, 3 Bullets is on hold while I get a short film done, a project for The World’s Kitchen is about done that I’ll be posting upon completion, and I’m apparently doing a skate video. So, yeah, new stuff. I also updated the website with some more information. 2009 is now in effect and it’s time to get things rolling with getting the good name of Dark & Moody Productions out there. (wait, there’s a name now?)

So here’s how the Line Up is going:

  1. 3 BULLETS
Draft 4 nearly complete, after that will be a long process of possibly rewriting it. Again. >_<
  2. FLICK A WEEK: Opportunity
Short film project, working with Phil (from NOBAS) on this one. Got the script done, we’re working out what to do about props, actor choices, etc. Should be done in April/May. Action packed, gritty, kind of like Dealers & Stealers in tone but going to be awesome instead of boring.
  3. CATATOUILLE
Almost done with this one. World’s Kitchen project. Silent Film-esque video, comedy.
  4. SKATE VIDEO
The first job introduced me to a dude named Titus. He wants me to make him a skate video, so I’ll do that in return for him being in Opportunity. It’s definitely something new for me.

Oh, and there was a 3 Bullets Diary Entry I forgot to mention around New Year’s Eve. That’s below the break.

Sept13-08: Hmm….Interesting?

Sep 13, 2008 in Filmmaking, Lists, Ranting

And now I finally get back to this thing to do proper “things I found interesting” posts while trying to keep away the fact I haven’t done a proper introduction to my next project here. Blargh.

  • GET TO DAH CHOPPAHH!!! is even better in HD.
    Seriously.
  • There was around 4 or 5 different directors named Sergio working in the Italian film industry in the 1960s and 1970s.
Leone, Corbucci, Sollima, and Martino for sure. I’m sure there’s one or two more I’m missing, too.
  • There still has yet to be a successor to The Specialists or Action Half-Life/Quake
That is sad. It’s been nearly 4 years since Half-Life 2 was released and still no action movie mod? What the hell is wrong with that community?! Distraction’s looking all right, though.
  • A huge amount of effort is being put into Resident Evil 5…
Despite the fact it looks like it’ll just continue the trend of RE4’s “no story, all action and style” flavor which has disillusioned RE fans everywhere. Thanks a bunch, Capcom! Ya jerks…
  • People still care about music games?
It may just be I’m tired of those damn Rock Band 2 ads. Or that I don’t have any friends to play said Rock Band 2 with at all. I find it interesting that this mainstream “trend” (and it’s just that - a temporary trend, thanks to Guitar Hero) is still going pretty strong. We’ll see how long it lasts after this, however.
  • 2008 is packed full of awesome B-movies.
Except the fact most of them are “but the story is kind of minimal” type of movies. Interesting to have that many in the same year. I have a rant on a similar topic to this coming.

And I guess that’s it for today. (more…)

3 Bullets Test Poster

Aug 12, 2008 in Filmmaking

Just a teaser concept poster, which is more “proof of concept” than anything else. It’s a test, but hey, it’s on the right track.

We’ll hopefully start filming in November or December. (more…)
